Joe Colopy is an entrepreneur who builds and invests in software startups. He is the co-founder and CEO of PeopleLove, a cloud-based employee engagement platform. Prior to PeopleLove, Joe was the co-founder and CEO of Bronto Software, a leader in cloud-based commerce marketing automation for brands across the world. After being founded in 2002, Bronto grew organically to employ over 300 people across its offices in Durham (NC), New York, Los Angeles, London (UK) and Sydney (AUS). In 2015, Bronto was acquired for $200mm by NetSuite, a cloud-based provider of financial applications. Through his work with Bronto, Joe was a past winner of Triangle Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Carolinas.
Earlier in his career, Joe worked at Red Hat and was U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in the Seychelles. He earned an AB in Computer Science from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives happily with his wife, four children, cat, dog, bees, two gerbils, and nine chickens in Durham, North Carolina.
